It's important to try and mix things up so you have an array of choices at breakfast time, then you can look forward to starting your day healthy. One of my favorite recipes is for a protein pancake. It's super easy to make, in fact you make it just like your ordinary pancake except its healthier and packed with protein. you will need:
4 egg whites
1/2 cup of oatmeal
1-2 scoops of protein powder
1/3 cup of natural unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 banana or 1/2 cup of strawberries (optional)
Spray a pan with a non-fat olive or canola oil cooking spray. Mix in a bowl just like you would make your usual pancake and then pour into the pan.
This is a great easy recipe for protein packed, guilt free pancakes and is a great pre-workout meal as well. Another option to healthy pancakes is to buy whole wheat pancake mix and use egg whites and non-fat or 1% organic milk and olive or canola oil.
